My first time going to New Melleray was this last weekend. Many thanks to all there and especially Fr Xavier for such a spiritual and connecting event. I plan to come back many times.

Staying at New Melleray is refreshing to the soul, even to a non Catholic like me! God is great!

Good morning and God bless you all in your life and work. I keep encountering your abbey in the books I read, i.e. Uncommon Prayer and In Pursuit of Silence. Perhaps our Lord while allow us to visit someday.

Dear Monks, Thank you for being in your beautiful monastery and praying for the whole world. I appreciate the simple and spiritual Cistercian liturgy. Some day I hope to visit New Melleray for a retreat . Please pray for me as I struggle to earn a living and live a prayerful life.

I attend my first retreat at New Melleray in 1964 while a student at Loras. Fr. Daniel Lenihan was the Retreat Master at that time. His spiritual blessings for me and my family all these years since that first retreat has been something that is so precious that words cannot express the value of it all. May he live in excellent health another 102 years!!!

I have been receiving Mass intentions from Fr. Daniel for nearly 18 years since the first month of my ordination and no month has ever been skipped! I am grateful to your community for this generous gesture and much more so to Fr. Daniel who has always added a note of greeting and encouragement in my missionary service to all the intentions sent.

When our Father passed he had always said "Just put me in a pine box and bury me behind the barn". Thanks to the Melleray Abbey I was able to grant my father's wish for a pine box. It was a magnificent example of the monks work and I am currently looking for my own casket. Since none of us knows the hour of our death we must be prepared as my scouting background has taught me. I just wanted to say THANK YOU again for the casket for my father and my family hopes to visit the Abbey later this year. And we appreciate the tree planted in memory of my Father, Edward G. Streichert. Good Day
