Hi, I read with mixed emotions the passing of Br Benedict. I had e-mailed him once and he relplied. The second time he did not, and I assume his conditioned has worsened. Mixed emotions because of the loss of a special person, and happy for him, as he returns to God. I just hope I can meet him some day. As ever my warmest regards to all of you Roger

Thank you for the online Monastic Primer. I found it while pondering whether to contract for a pine Trappist coffin in installments. I receive e-mail from Lay Associates in Ava, MO and have had a personally-enriching association with the Vina Trappists for 26 years.

Great care & planning have gone into your website. I am compelled to comment on one single photo. The Q & A photo instantly drew me in to the picture. The stunning symbolism surely changes with every viewer. I am on a path of self healing using the 12 steps of AA. My path is uncertain; much like "I can’t see the forrest for the trees," yet with every few steps I see light ahead of my path. Kindly pass on to the photographer my thanks for sharing his blessing with myself and others. Yours in Christ, M

A belated "Thank You" from travellers, for the experience of 7AM Mass Wednesday June 17. If we lived in eastern Iowa and not western Pennsylvania we would be regulars! Thank you for your hospitality and a beautiful Mass.

Dear Brothers, thank you for the audio file of the Compline Service. It’s a joy and a blessing to be able to listen and participate. May God’s blessing be with you in all of your endeavors.

This page was not available in September 2000 when my father passed away and was buried in a casket made by the monks of New Melleray Abbey. We called and in two days a casket was driven in a pick-up truck by two brothers across Iowa so that we might bury my Father in one of these beautiful caskets. This association was one of the many things that made my Fathers passing a celebration of his wishes and such a warm send-off. Thank you, and may God bless your efforts. John Grant

I need to renew my faith and regain some inner peace. I would welcome a spiritual retreat without wordly distractions. I have been dedicated to my professional endeavors in the medical field for a long time, at the expense of my spiritual growth, and I am in a way, "unbalanced". I have been thinking about a personal spiritual retreat and that is how I arrived at your site. I hope to be able to visit.
